About

I travel a lot. What I like isn't the monuments. It's stumbling on the neighborhood café, the table where locals actually go on a Sunday. Those places aren't always in guidebooks. They're mostly in the heads of the people who live there.

So I'd ask. At every stay, at the front desk, with hosts. And after a while, I felt bad asking again. "Any recommendations for tonight?", three times in a week, to someone who already has an entire property to run.

One day, a host got ahead of it. She sent me a huge message, about twenty addresses, with links and comments. Rare attention to detail. Except when it came time to pick a restaurant, standing in the street in the rain, I had to scroll back through three days of messages to find it again. And some of the addresses were already out of date.

HerePicks came out of that gap. The care was there; the tool wasn't.

In practice, HerePicks is a Swiss tool for local recommendations, made for hotels, rentals, B&Bs and campsites. Each property picks its favourite places and shares them with guests through a link or a QR code, with no app: a selection that's always up to date, in the guest's pocket exactly when they need it.

Nothing more, and that's deliberate. You already have software for bookings and another for check-in. HerePicks isn't trying to do more. It's trying to do this one thing well.
